Kettlebells

A kettlebell is an amazing resistance training tool, once you've experienced the strength, power, endurance, and cardio conditioning from the workouts, you won't be able to get enough of them.

Find out why everyone has been talking about them.

The kettlebell is an unparalleled, round-shaped, cast iron weight with a thick cast iron handle.

Many of the strength conditioning moves require you to hold the kettlebell by the handle as you maneuver it through dynamic ranges of motion while at the same time controlling the resistance with your body, thus, incorporating many different muscle groups.

All the exercises are performed using diaphragmatic breathing while bracing down the core as if you were to receive a punch. When using this method of breathing and bracing, you are protecting your spine and strengthening your core muscles.

This might sound like a lot of blah, blah, blah, but when swinging a 26, 35, or 44lb.

kettlebell (in a controlled manner) over your head, around your back, and between your legs, it’s a very serious matter and you need to be able to perform the exercises safely and effectively.

There is no end to the variations of kettlebell exercises, and here at Ultimate Kickboxing & Fitness we are incorporating power, strength, and conditioning in all of our classes.

Kettlebell instructors are able to tailor any kettlebell exercise to fit all types of individuals. You can be a beginner who has never picked up a weight, or a person with an old injury. Even the most athletic person can benefit from the kettlebell training at Ultimate Kickboxing & Fitness.

Kettlebells can greatly improve shoulder strength and stability. Many individuals are able to lift a heavy load using their shoulders, but end up getting hurt. This is usually due to the inability to stabilize a load for any length of time.

Exercises like the Turkish Get Up, or a Kettlebell Military Press, which strengthens shoulders and eliminates rotary cuff problems, will increase the shoulder strength and stability.

Ultimate Kickboxing & Fitness offers kettlebell basic training two times a month.

All members and outside drop- ins must take our kettlebell basic training before they are able to participate in one of our kettlebell classes.  This class is free to our members, outside drop-ins only pay $10.00 per kettlebell class, with no membership fee.
